Scenario figures are arithmetic on your chosen inputs, not a forecast. Tax reliefs depend on individual circumstances and holding shares for at least three years.

What is Peymo?

Peymo is a payments platform that connects stablecoin wallets with card payments, IBAN accounts and business tools. Its iOS and Android apps are live, it supports in-store payments, and it offers a WooCommerce plugin for online merchants.

How can I verify Peymo independently?

Peymo Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 13887920, with legal entity identifier 984500CC7FD75D585020. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play, find the payment gateway in the WordPress Plugin Directory, and read independent coverage in FinTech Global.

What are the terms of the round?

Peymo is raising £4.3m at £0.1032 per share, a £20.64m pre-money and £24.94m post-money valuation, issuing 41,666,667 new shares. The investor pack sets out share class and closing details.

What is the minimum investment?

The minimum investment is one block of 100,000 shares at £0.1032 each — £10,320. EIS income tax relief applies to qualifying investments of up to £1m per tax year.

How does EIS relief work?

HMRC has granted advance assurance for this share issue. Qualifying investors can claim 30% income tax relief, pay no capital gains tax on gains after three years, claim loss relief and defer other gains. You receive an EIS3 certificate after the shares are issued, which you use to make your claim.

Who can invest?

The offer is open to UK investors who qualify as high net worth, sophisticated or restricted investors. We take you through a short categorisation and appropriateness check before you subscribe.

When could I see a return?

Returns from early-stage shares typically come through an exit such as a sale of the company or a listing, which can take several years. Shares are not readily tradeable in the meantime, so invest money you can leave in place for the long term.

Is there any obligation if I enquire?

None. Requesting the pack or booking a call simply gives you the full information to make your own decision.

Before you invest

Worth knowing.

  • Early-stage investing carries real risk. Like any start-up investment, your capital is at risk and you could lose all of it, so only invest what you can afford to.
  • This is a long-term investment. Shares aren’t easily sold, and returns usually come from an exit, which can take several years.
  • Future funding rounds may dilute your shareholding as Peymo grows.
  • FSCS and Financial Ombudsman protection is unlikely to apply to this investment.
  • EIS tax relief depends on your personal circumstances and on Peymo continuing to qualify.

Due to the potential for losses, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) considers this investment to be high risk.

What are the key risks?

  1. You could lose all the money you invest. If the business you invest in fails, you are likely to lose 100% of the money you invested. Most start-up businesses fail.
  2. You are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong. Protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), in relation to claims against failed regulated firms, does not cover poor investment performance. You can check on the FSCS investment protection checker. Protection from the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) does not cover poor investment performance.
  3. You won’t get your money back quickly. Even if the business you invest in is successful, it may take several years to get your money back. You are unlikely to be able to sell your investment early. The most likely way to get your money back is if the business is bought by another business or lists its shares on an exchange such as the London Stock Exchange. These events are not common. If you are investing in a start-up business, you should not expect to get your money back through dividends. Start-up businesses rarely pay these.
  4. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Putting all your money into a single business or type of investment is risky. Spreading your money across different investments makes you less dependent on any one to do well. A good rule of thumb is not to invest more than 10% of your money in high-risk investments.
  5. The value of your investment can be reduced. The percentage of the business that you own will decrease if the business issues more shares. This could mean that the value of your investment reduces, depending on how much the business grows. Most start-up businesses issue multiple rounds of shares.
